The Restaurant Poggio di Casalucense, with its beautiful garden and the Hotel with SPA, it is not only an elegant restaurant for ceremonies but also a strategic point where to stop to visit the main important places of interest in Cassino and in the Latium.

The Poggio is closed to the Abruzzo National Park, 15 minutes by car from Cassino and the Abbey of Montecassino; the Gulf of Gaeta is 40 km far circa. Who comes from the A1 highway should exit in Cassino, from where follow the highway to Cassino-Sora-Avezzano and then take the exit in Sant'Elia F. Rapido. Who comes from the South, must instead exit in Belmonte Castello.

The Abbey of Montecassino

It was founded by S. Benedetto in 529, by turning a pagan temple into a monastery. Here has been written the famous Regula Monachorum by the founder itself. The rest of S. Benedetto and S. Scolastica are preserved under the main altar of the Basilica. In its history, the Abbey has been often destroyed; we want to remember above all the 15th of February 1944, when it was hit by a violent bombing. In the following years, the Abbot Rea wanted its reconstruction, that the Italian State declared like an emblem of a reborn.
